23 Million Euros Needed for Upgrading Abovyan Gas Storehouse

A 23 million euros worth project for upgrading an underground natural gas storehouse in the town of Abovian, some 20 off the capital Yerevan, developed by HayRusGazArd company, the sole supplier of Russian gas to Armenia, was praised highly by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and participants of a round table, held on the sidelines of a ministerial meeting of INOGATE program. Abovyan’s art school has been repaired

The Art School presented itself from a new angle, repaired and full of beautiful creative works.   The Art School has been repaired by the sponsorshipof Abovian Municipality and the assistance of Armenian Red CrossAssociation. The opening ceremony took place on April 7. The principal of the Art School Aris Karapetyan and his 90 pupilsorganized an exhibition, where landscapes, theme compositions, drawings, sculptures and pottery were presented. The aim of the arranged exhibition was to discover talented children in Abovyan town and to educate them as future painters.

8 ARMENIAN NGOs SELECTED FINALISTS IN CB TENDER ON SMALL GRANTS PROGRAM

  YEREVAN, April 23 (Noyan Tapan).   The World Bank Yerevan Office and the Open Society Institute Assistance Foundation – Armenia (OSIAF) announced the results of the Small Grants Program-2003. Eight Armenian non-profit, non-government organizations were selected finalists to receive grant awards. The amount of awards totals $80,000. In total, 169 project proposals were received from NGOs from all over Armenia.
