October the 9th is the election day of Local Authorities’ Institution. Both the citizens and the candidates actively prepare to the Local Authorities Institution’s elections. Its worth to mention that each citizen of 18 years old is aware of his /her electoral law and we hope that October the 9th, from 9 AM to 20:00 PM, they will go and realize their civic duty. 24 electoral areas are formed where the elections should pass. Republic of Armenian’s low demand the following concerning to the “Local Authorities”, for being elected a leader of the community, it’s necessary:

  • Citizenship of Republic of Armenia
  • 21 years old
  • At least living 1 year in certain community
  • Each citizen of Armenia having the right for voting
  • Each citizen having secondary or higher education

 

 

Whereas in 2002, in Local Authorities Institution’s (mayor) elections, the candidates were registered without educational qualification. This year the working mayor K. Israelyan has been nominated a candidate for the Abovyan community (was born in 1953, non-party) and he will be reelected for the third time which proves that he is really good mayor.

 

In contrast to mayor’s nominated candidate, the nominated councilors for community are 35. For being elected a member of the community. It’s necessary:

 

  • Citizenship of Republic of Armenia
  • 21 years old
  • At least living 1 year in certain community
  • Each citizen of Armenia having the right for voting

 

The 12 of which are the nowadays member of the community:

  8. Gegham A. Matevosyan (1954, non-party)
  9. Mher H. Martirosyan (1955, non-party)
  10. Erjanik S. Nikoghosyan (1950, non-party)
  11. Sargis H. Chatyan (1953, Dashnaktsutiun party)
  12. Spartak P. Vardanyan (1967, Dashnaktsutiun party)

 

And the new nominated candidates are the following:
