On April the 22nd in the evening, the Abovyan musical hall was overcrowded. Here acted the national choir of Hungarian radio  with the head of Kalman Strausz. In April 1915 the Ottoman government embarked upon the systematic decimation of its civilian Armenian population. The persecutions continued with varying intensity until 1923 when the Ottoman Empire ceased to exist and was replaced by the Republic of Turkey. The Armenian population of the Ottoman state was reported at about two million in 1915. An estimated one million had perished by 1918, while hundreds of thousands had become homeless and stateless refugees. By 1923 virtually the entire Armenian population of Anatolian Turkey had disappeared.

The Abovyan local TV channel “Narek” had its first experimental broadcast on March 10th and celebrated its new-coming. The founding director is Samvel Hakobyan, and the executive director – Valodya Hakobyan. “Narek” TV broadcasts its programs by 26 decimeter frequency every day at 17:00. This year is celebrated the 1600 anniversary of the Armenian alphabets creation and every year the matinee of final Alphabetic book is organized in every regions of the country. Such kind of matinee took place in the Abovyan  School # 5, where the first grade schoolchildren represented the alphabet and played Armenian folk tales.  They became barely literate, learned the language language that after rubbing with merely all the languages of the world was forged and became goldenletter and survived for more than 1600 year.
