"Augustine One Man, One History" is a complete introduction to the life of St. Augustine as a Saint, Father, and Doctor of the Church.
The content and simple language of the book has made a major contribution to the Persian literature, because there are few books in Farsi with no predetermination, which offer clear idea about the life and works of the Christian Saints.

Armenian Water-Sewerage Company Faces Financial Problems

The Armenian Water-Sewerage Company has encountered difficult problems since the beginning of the year due to the global economic and financial crisis. This was stated by Patrick Lorin, General Director and Management Contractor of the company (AWSC). Since the beginning of the year both the revenues of the company and state subsidies have reduced, told the director general.
The company has increased tariffs for drinking water since April 1, though the enterprise intended to change tariffs from the beginning of January. Tariffs for drinking water grew from 140 AMD to 179.78 AMD (including VAT) per cubic meter.
According to Mr. Lorin, the value added tax, which is charged from the revenues, has been imposed on the company since January. Since some 100 thousand subscribers do not make regular payments, in fact the company itself pays 20 per cent of VAT from the collected amount, told P.Lorin. AWSC currently has 270,000 subscribers in Armenia (which is about 1 million residents).
The current week Abovyan’s museum of friendship of Armenian and Russian people were full of Cultural events.
It has been started with celebration of the librarian day.
The participants of the events were collaborators of libraries of Abovyan city and the whole Kotayk region.
They congratulated each other and the best librarians of many years were awarded by honorary diplomas.
The director of beauty salon "Elona" Eleonora Malayan surprised librarians with her presents and charming gifts.
The scientific worker of the museum Aslik Hakobyan was awarded by special honorary diploma from directory of the museum for 50 years long time active work.

We are very glad to inform our readers about new movie called "Power Poison". This film created in Glendale and directed by Abovyan former citizen Vahram Hakobyan. It took over 2 years of dedication and commitment of many very talented people to complete this film, and now we humbly present you the trailer.
Suspense, thriller, drama, mob action, and a terrorist conspiracy intertwine around a young man, Hayk, who after losing his family is saved, and consequently taken under the wing of a powerful mob boss. Ike grows within the criminal family, only to risk losing everything he cares about once more. Ironically his nearly fatal loss gives him a chance to set his true self free.

The competition – festival “Kotayq 2009”, which took place on the 30 of July in the cultural centre of Abovyan, was really dancing celebration for all people, who live in Kotayq and especially for dancing groups of Kotayq. The program of the competition – festival consisted of folk and national dances. Two age groups took part in the competition. The presentation was estimated by the jury. The head of the jury was the folk artist of Armenia, the head of the choreography statesman’s union of RA. The festival ended with awarding. All the participants were given certificates, which was confirmed by the district’s head of Kotayq. The latter had also made two presents for two best dancing groups. The winners of the first, second, third places were awarded by corresponding gold, silver, bronze mementoes. By the way, in the first age group the first prize and the diploma were given to “Minahar” dancing group from Hrazdan. In the second age group the same prize was given to “Husher”dancing group from Abovyan.

The annual concert of the 2009 year took place on the 26-th of June with the participation of the alumni of Pop and Jazz art studio of Abovyan in the hall of the cultural centre of Abovyan city, with the title of “Hayastan-Mayr", and in the lobby was exhibited the student works of the fine art and clothes designing department.
The concert was devoted to Lyudvig Duryan's 75 years, who was Armenian famous poet, the respected citizen of the Kotayk district. Though this year on the 21-th of June was the 76 years of poet, but the organizer and composer of the concert Mamikon Badalyan underlined the importance offamous people to young generation. For assisting it have already expected Duryan's days and till the next year will be celebrated poet's 75 years.
It is already 38 years since in the 17th of June one of our great poets Paruyr Sevak left us forever. But his death was physically, as his poetry lives in the soul of each Armenian, and Memory stays in everybody's heart. We can say this surely as every year many people, who love Sevak, visit his native country Chanakhchi, and put flowers in his memorial in the place where the car accident happened, then in his garden where a tomb is.
It is already 10 years since the citizens of Abovyan, who are fond of Sevak, to owing to Garush Hakobyan, have a chance to visit Zangakatun, put flowers in his tomb and visits his home-museum.
